You can install multiples runtimes if you want to support multiple Kinect versions.
STREAMLABS OBS VIRTUAL WEBCAM HOW TO
How to use (for end-users, you probably want this)ĭepending on your Kinect model (see requirement) you'll have to install a runtime to make it work with obs-kinect (and any other thirdparty application). Add more fun effects (use issues to post your ideas).Add support for Linux and macOS (using libfreenect and libfreenect2).Optimize green-screen filtering effect (especially the color-to-depth mapping part, if possible).Add possibility to use body index masking (pixels identified by Kinect SDK to be you).

1080p pixel processing is a really heavy CPU task and would benefit a lot to run on the GPU Use shaders to do faux green-screen processing.Improve green-screen filtering using gaussian blur.⚠️ Visual Studio 2019 redistributables ( 32bits, 64bits) ⚠️ Kinect for Windows runtime or SDK (links in "How to use", note that Kinect for Windows SDK includes runtime) ⚠️ OBS Studio >= 25.0 (since 0.3 this plugins no longer works on OBS Studio 24.0, if upgrading is a problem let me know). Not running on a potato computer, Kinect itself requires a little bit of CPU power, especially when using the faux green screen effect (I'm trying to improve that) because of the color-to-depth mapping (which is done on the CPU). If your Kinect isn't pluggable to your computer: a Kinect to USB adapter (search for PeakLead Kinect to USB on Amazon). Kinect for Xbox One and Kinect 2 for Windows (v2).Kinect for Windows - same as Kinect for 360 but with support for camera controls and a "near mode" (v1+).This plugins allows you to access a Kinect v1 (for Xbox 360 or Kinect for Windows) and Kinect v2 (for Xbox One) streams and setup a "virtual green screen effect" based on depth/body data.Ī Kinect, all known models are supported: The actual freeze occurred at about the 09:14 time.OBS Plugin to access Kinect data (and setup a virtual green screen based on depth). I have run out of things that I know to try! I'm including a log file for the most recent video freeze. I very much appreciate any assistance that can be provided. I have attempted to turn off everything that shows in the log file as enabled or on except for the firewall. In troubleshooting, I was running Norton in silent mode and finally removed it altogether. It is around 22% when recording and it drops to around 10% when the camera feed freezes. The CPU usage shows at about 2% when OBS Studio is open but not recording. I am coming from an old Dell laptop with the same setup (older version of OBS Studio) that worked flawlessly for us other than the memory was taxed when doing a recording.

The system: The software is run on an HP laptop with an i5 processor (8th gen). The camera and the laptop do not need to be restarted for the image to become live again.

Stopping the recording and restarting OBS Studio brings back an active image. This happens sometimes after an hour of recording, sometimes after only a minute or so. But in OBS Studio, the image remains frozen. the camera itself still responds to controls and can be viewed as an active image on a separate monitor. The problem: The camera image freezes and does not "unfreeze". Hello, I am using OBS Studio and a USB-connected PTZOptics camera to record worship services.
